Why did you join Gattaca?

All I knew when I joined the company was that they were market-leaders in our industries and had a fantastic Learning & Development team. They haven’t disappointed and have really helped me develop throughout my career.

Describe your Gattaca career so far.
I started as a fresh graduate from Bournemouth University in Dorset and this was my first proper job. I started as a Consultant working a contract desk in the Highways and Transportation industry and loved every minute of it.

I’ve been given loads of opportunities to develop my existing skills and learn new ones and I am certainly a more rounded and educated person than I ever was before. I’m now a part of the Leadership and Management team and hope to repay the faith the business has shown in me over the six years of my employment, throughout the rest of my career.

How has your career changed or progressed since you joined?
I was promoted to Senior Consultant after 18 months as a Consultant in the London and South East contract market. I then continued my focus within the Highways and Transportation industry and was promoted to Team Leader within another 18 months. In the last two years, I’ve seen another promotion to Department Manager and I’m now managing three teams across two offices and heading up one of the largest teams in the business. I’m extremely strategic, thorough and ambitious and have been lucky to get the backing and investment from the business to share and realise my ambitions.

What are your career aspirations with Gattaca?
Currently, I’m in a fortunate enough position to be able to lead a department and grow something organically. I hope to continue to do this successfully, and one day become part of the Management Board so I can help shape the growth of the whole business.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Seeing people around me develop and flourish. I am a keen believer in organic growth and development and being able to help people improve and develop their own skills. I see people learning from their peers and managers every day and am a fan of the empowerment that it gives to others.
