Stepping into the New Year with a good understanding of IR35
Usually, this time of year is about winding down and looking forward to the New Year ahead so it can be tempting to put some of your December to-dos back to January. However, your future-self is unlikely to thank you for delaying your preparations for IR35 because there’s a lot to do.

One of the biggest tasks you need to complete before April 2020 is carrying out a compliant assessment of your off-payroll workforce’s assignments and determining whether they fall inside or outside IR35.
You should aim to get this done before Christmas, so you can go into the New Year with a good understanding of just how much impact IR35 is going to have on your business because your journey to compliance doesn’t end there.
After your assessment, you will need to review your policies and procedures around contractor engagement, develop solutions to cope with the change and then also consider how your business will remain compliant after April.
