Learning & Development
We are dedicated to investing in and developing our staff so that each individual is working to the best of their ability. Throughout your career with us, you will be provided with professional development and learning opportunities, whatever your role or level.
Gattaca is a progressive, ambitious company which offers a service based on solid experience and forward insight. As such, a career at Gattaca is dynamic, fun and rewarding. Working for Gattaca means you won’t be with a company who sits still. In the past two years alone we have grown to a team of 800+; acquired two businesses; and have offices globally over four continents. All of this means there are plenty of career opportunities worldwide. Visit our office pages to find out more about what it’s like to work in each location.
Our mission is to help unleash future potential and that’s exactly what we do with our staff. We partner with many professional bodies and training providers to ensure they continue to develop their specialist knowledge.
Here are some of our staff members describing their career development with Gattaca:
“I joined Gattaca as a history graduate, my role developed from a Graduate Liaison Consultant in 2005; building relationships with universities across the UK to identify talent for our Engineering and Technology clients, to my current role which is Global Head of Talent Management for the Group. This development wouldn’t have been possible without the ongoing mentoring and support of my Director (Jennie Mead) and without the Gattaca-funded post-graduate diploma in Personnel Development (CIPD Accredited) and Masters top-up. These additional qualifications have helped me become a credible member of the HR function, allowing me to add value to colleagues across the business, and have also provided me with the academic stimulation and in-work challenges required to succeed at my current role and for my future development.”
Claire Cross, Global Head of Talent Management
“I joined the legal team at Gattaca in 2008 as an Immigration and Diversity Analyst. I had already completed my law degree and post graduate degree and my long-term aim was to become a solicitor. My manager looked into whether Gattaca would be able to obtain a training certificate which would allow me to become a trainee solicitor with the company. In 2010, Gattaca registered with the Law Society (after passing all of the requirements to become an in-house training provider) and in March 2010 I started my two year training contract. I have now been on the roll of solicitors since 2012. All of this would not have been possible without the support and encouragement of the company. I thoroughly enjoy working for a company that really takes pride in employee development. The legal team alone has doubled in size since I started and I can only see it growing in years to come as we strive to provide more specialist support internationally.”
Nicola Whitehouse, Legal Advisor
“When deciding to join Gattaca in a Marketing role in September 2015, good training and development opportunities were a key factor. Having been enrolled a year after joining the company, I am now over half way through my CIM ‘Professional Certificate in Marketing’ course. It has given me a great deal of knowledge and confidence in my role, and has helped me to grow greatly as a marketing specialist at Gattaca.”
Joe Griffin, Senior Marketing Executive
“I joined Gattaca as an English & Creative Writing graduate four years ago with little business experience and no knowledge of the particulars of my role as a Junior Bid Writer. However, I did have the right attitude towards learning and from day one this was matched by Gattaca’s desire to help me develop. The most important part of my development was the close mentoring I received to help me achieve my goals and continue to improve. We use a competency framework which gives me specific targets to keep improving to become better at my role, which I can work on to help reinforce my strengths and build on areas I could be even better in. In the space of four years I have progressed to become a Senior Bid Manager and have developed a career I am passionate about.”
Jack Martin, Senior Bid Manager
