Gattaca appoints a Managing Director for Matchtech

Grahame Carter new Matchtech MD

Grahame, who has worked with Matchtech for 16 years, was chosen to head up Matchtech’s operations and drive the company’s growth.

The appointment comes at a time when the UK engineering sector is seeing significant investment across a variety of projects, which includes continued development in connected cars, HS2, the Thames Tideway Project, Hinckley Point and the Queen Elizabeth Class aircraft carrier support programme in Portsmouth.

In Grahame’s role as Managing Director of Matchtech he will be responsible for leading, developing and growing the engineering business and will continue to offer engineering expertise for large scale and innovative projects.

Prior to the announcement of Grahame’s promotion, and following the acquisition of Networkers International, Keith Lewis had been acting as Matchtech’s Managing Director and Gattaca’s Chief Operating Officer. In Grahame’s new role as Matchtech’s Managing Director he will report into Keith, who will continue to report into Brian Wilkinson and oversee Gattaca’s engineering and technology brands, Matchtech and Networkers.

Keith Lewis, former MD of Matchtech, now COO at Gattaca, the parent company of Matchtech, said:

"Grahame joined the Group 16 years ago as a recruitment consultant, initially developing the water team, before focusing on developing the buildings, rail and power teams. He has built a strong, profitable Infrastructure sector division and worked his way up to the role of Infrastructure Operations Director for Matchtech in 2014. Since then the Infrastructure division has gone from strength to strength and we’ve seen some fantastic growth through Grahame’s leadership."

He continued: “We had a very competitive recruitment process, with strong applicants both internally and externally. I am very proud that the best candidate for the role was from within the business. With Grahame’s proven experience and record of accomplishment of success, this is a new and exciting challenge which we know Grahame will embrace.”
